Training Coordinator

Status: Part Time * Hourly * Non exempt

Job Summary:

The Training Coordinator reports directly to the Residential Director or designee per Executive Director. The Training Coordinator is responsible for ensuring all staff meet all training requirements per regulatory agencies, such as but not limited to, DIDD Provider Manual, Licensure rules. The Training Coordinator will adhere to all WTFS Policies and Procedures. The Training Coordinator is the primary staff responsible for scheduling all employees, including Admin & volunteers, when necessary, for required trainings, conducting required trainings, tracking expiration dates of all trainings for all employees, and maintaining all employee training files. The Training Coordinator will assist with the coordination of the New Hire training classes, working with the Human Resources Director to ensure that classes are timely and meeting the needs of the organization. The Training Coordinator works closely with the Human Resources Director, Residential Director, and Executive Director to ensure the agency stays in compliance with training requirements.

Essential Job Functions:

Develops, maintains, & disseminates training calendar/s for initial & recert classes.
Contacts employees regarding scheduled trainings via phone calls, texts, emails, memos.
Schedule trainings needed for all staff.
Ensures staff receive their acquired certifications and copies are placed in their training file.
Ensures Training files are created and kept up to date for every WTFS employee.
Instructs training courses as needed.
Attends training certification classes and stays current in all required training certifications, as needed.
Maintains current working knowledge of required trainings for the Tennessee DIDD System, attends meetings or webinars as needed.
Ability to operate and navigate Relias system through DIDD for staff’s training compliance and tracking.
Works closely with other departments to coordinate training schedules with employees work schedule and informs management when staff has to be removed from shift because of late, expired or missed trainings.
Learns the agency’s technology for tracking training or development/selection of new technology that serves the needs of the agency best.
Works with other department directors to ensure that the most current training materials and technology is being implemented agency wide.
Coordinates with HR & Residential Director when new hire class is needed

Have the ability to supervise others;
Be organized and exhibit “follow through” on tasks and goals so that they are met timely;
Display a positive, professional attitude, show concern for our employees, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability;
An Associate’s Degree required, but will accept a High School Diploma with at least 3 years’ experience and knowledge in scheduling and training within the Tennessee DIDD System;
3 years minimum experience in supervising others;
Is certified or will become certified in all required training with the exception of Medication Administration;
Ability to multi task, prioritize tasks, problem solve, strong organizational skills, attention to details
Ability to physically preform all required functions of the job;
Experience working in the field of DIDD is highly preferred.
Knowledge of DIDD training requirements and Relias system highly preferred.
Ability to sit, bend, stoop, reach, stand for long periods of time, and lift up to 15 lbs as well work on a computer, staring at the computer screen for extended periods

Teaching Counselor
Full or Part time/Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Teaching Counselor is to teach skills and behaviors to maximize independence in activities of daily living for clients who have developmental disabilities and other special needs.

High School diploma or equivalency required.

One – Two (1-2) years of prior experience in a position of similar scope, preferred.

Ability to lift at least one-fourth of own body weight unassisted and ability to perform unassisted transfers of disabled adults with adaptive equipment (lift belts, Hoyer lifts, etc.).

Knowledge of Teaching Family Model components and techniques preferred.

The ability to handle all aspects of personal care with sensitivity and caring.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Operation of a motor vehicle is required which includes proof of a valid driver’s license and an ability to qualify as a driver under WTFS insurance guidelines.

Completion of WTFS and DIDS training curriculum within specified time frame.
